The University of Niš was founded in 1965 as a state HE institution. At present, the University comprises 13 faculties: Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Electronic Engineering, Faculty of Arts, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Occupational Safety, Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Physical Culture, Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Faculty of Technology and Teacher-Training Faculty.
The University of Niš presently has 27088 students in all levels of study, 1560 teaching staff and more than 600 administrative and support staff.
One of the leading principles of the University of Niš is to become a part of the European higher education area and to adjust its plans and programs against this aim, in the context of the reform of higher education system within the Tempus and other programs.

As the main coordinator, UNI will be in charge of the overall project management, steer management, dissemination and exploitation activities, provide members for the QAG and Core group, actively participate in all the development WPs, and lead WP4, dealing with improvement of various language support services. It will also develop, maintain, and update the web portal which will contain all information about the project. UNI will be in charge of preparing various project-related promotional materials, organizing dissemination gatherings and events at the institutional level and for a wider public at the local and regional levels. UNI will coordinate the incorporation of the newly-developed policies into the existing relevant institution documents and will coordinate the organization of seminars for non-partner institutions with the aim of achieving a multiplier effect of the project.

The University of Belgrade (BU) is the oldest and the largest university in Serbia with over 89,000 students and 5,000 teachers and associates. It comprises 31 faculties, 11 Institutes, 7 Centers and a University library, which all work together on achieving academic excellence. University of Belgrade is a member of European  University Association and is also included into various forms of inter-academic cooperation (such as TEMPUS projects and UNIADRION initiative). Establishing, fostering and developing cooperation with other universities in the country and abroad, along with international organizations concerned with matters of higher education, has been an everlasting commitment of the University of Belgrade.

BU will use its national lead position in participation in EHEA to lead WP3 related to capacity building of teaching, non-teaching staff and students. It will provide data relevant to its participation in HE international activities, take part in all project activities related to the analysis of current situation, study visits and trainings, and organize major trainings in Serbia. University of Novi Sad

University of Novi Sad was founded in 1960 and it is the only state university in the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, comprising nowadays 14 faculties and 2 research and developmental institutes. The seats of nine faculties and both of the institutes are in Novi Sad, three faculties are located in Subotica, one in Zrenjanin and one in Sombor. The scientific and research activities of the University are realized through fundamental, applied and developmental research in the field of natural, technical, social, humanistic and medical sciences, as well as through research activities in the field of arts. Currently there are more than 400 on-going scientific, research and other projects, out of which 8 FP6 projects, 7 FP7 projects, 5 EUREKA projects, 15 COST projects and 1 SCOPES project.

University of Kragujevac

The University of Kragujevac was established in 1976. Since then, it has grown into a modern educational and research center embracing almost all major areas of teaching and research, presently comprising 12 faculties with the student population of 20,000 enrolled in all three study cycles.  These faculties are spread in six towns of Central Serbia region which covers the area populated by 2,000,000 people. The University of Kragujevac offers a wide range of accredited study programs on undergraduate and advanced levels. So far 35,000 students  graduated from the University,  1,300 earned their master’s degree and 660 successfully defended their doctoral dissertations.

UNIKG will lead WP1 related to developing legal and administrative framework for improved support services and procedures. State University of Novi Pazar

SUNP is the only integrated state university in Serbia. With  more than 4000 students and 250 permanent teaching staff (170 professors and lecturers and 80 assistants and research fellows) it is contributing to comprehensive development of the region. Integrated structure of SUNP has enabled it, as the youngest state university in Serbia, to develop much faster with the available funds and teaching and administration staff. SUNP operates through ten departments. It is accredited for 45 study programmes (20 bachelor, 20 master and 5 PhD study programmes). Relevant departments for the proposed project are Department for Interdisciplinary Studies, Departments for Technical Sciences, Biomedical Studies, Social Sciences and Humanities. SUNP has noticed results and number of realized projects (national and international) in various areas relevant to subject of this project like curriculum development, life long learning, university/enterprises cooperation, etc

The Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia is in charge of conducting state administration affairs in accordance with articles 12 through 21 of the Law on State Administration: to take part in the shaping of Government policy, to monitor state of affairs, to implement the law, other regulations and general acts, to pass statutes, orders and instructions, to pass regulations only in cases where it is explicitly authorized by law or by Government regulations, to carry out inspection supervision, to oversee public services, to address developmental affairs, to conduct other professional affairs . 

In the realization of this project, MESTD will have a crucial role in ensuring system solutions and legal and administrative decisions at the national level, harmonization of Serbian HE partner institutions and the multiplier effect to other HEIs. In particular, it will participate in setting up management bodies, making a joint report, establishing nation-wide action plans, improving the existing mobility services by participating in increasing the visibility of the opportunities offered by Serbian HEIs. It will coordinate the establishing of mobility mapping mechanisms for teaching staff, contribute to the formation of a mobility database and general awareness raising of all stakeholders for the active nation-wide involvement in EHEA. It will organize gatherings and marketing activities at the local public level as well as the national level. It will participate in incorporating, exploiting and multiplying the newly-developed policies stemming from the project results.

Conference of Universities of Serbia

Conference of Universities of Serbia (CSU) is a roof organization of all Universities in Serbia, which includes 8 state and 10 private Universities. President of CSU is being elected among rectors of the Serbian Universities. CSU is in charge of enhancing activities important for development of research at Universities, coordinating enrolment procedures for students, giving opinion on quality control on education, research and art sciences. Since its foundation, some of the most important goals of CSU have been coordinating work of all Serbian Universities, defining common action plans, realizing common interest and performing work established by Law. Furthermore, CSU is selecting members of the National Council for Higher Education and Committee for QC and Accreditation as well as suggesting criteria for selecting and promoting teachers at the Serbian Universities to the National Council for Higher Education.

Along with MESTD, CSU will have a major role in ensuring system solutions and legal and administrative decisions at the national level, harmonization of Serbian HE partner institutions and the multiplier effect to other HEIs. Student Conference of Serbian Universities

Student Conference of Serbian Universities [SCSU] represents the highest representative body of University students in Serbia, with the aim of accomplishing common interests of students as partners in the process of higher education in Serbia, coordinating and establishing common policies of the Student Parliaments of the Universities of Serbia and performance of work established by law. SCSU members are student representatives of all the student Parliaments of the University of Serbia. Since 2012, we have been a valid member of the European Students’ Union (ESU).

SCSU, the most representative student organisation, will provide the necessary student participation both for the information input and the outputs that require direct involvement of student bodies and dissemination towards individual faculties. More precisely, SCSU will participate in the discussions related to identifying Serbian university support services and procedures that need improvement and establishing nation-wide action plans. It will participate in the development and updating of foreign student hosting networks, in the modeling of working protocols and creating databases of student hosts. SCSU will participate in the dissemination of the information and acquired knowledge related to the activities and deliverables of the workpackages. SCSU will also take part in incorporating, exploiting and multiplying the newly-developed policies stemming from the project results.

Middlesex University

Jagiellonian University in Kraków

Masaryk University

Masaryk University (MUNI) is the second oldest and largest university in the Czech Republic. It was one of the first universities to implement ECTS and since the adoption of its “Strategy for Internationalization” in 2003 has been deeply committed to efforts at internationalization as well as to supporting its International Office and working with partners abroad to strengthen links. MUNI has gained considerable experience in a number of international projects. Within Tempus, it has participated in many projects in Central Asia, Western Balkan, Caucasus and Middle East. Of particular relevance to this proposal is the participation in three projects aimed at enabling universities in Morocco, Tunisia, and Israel and Palestine to create and improve their international relations offices and effectively internationalize their campuses. All these achievements were recognized by the European Association for International Education which rewarded MUNI for a truly international vision.
